Based in Saxony-Anhalt in central Germany, I offer a custom software development service which is specifically tailored to the requirements of the analytical and scientific instrumentation industries.
Qualifications & Background
Since graduating in 1983 from the University of Lancaster (UK), I have acquired over 20 years of experience of software development for instrument control, data acquisition and analysis in various fields of scientific instrumentation, including radiation measurement and monitoring, mass spectroscopy and gas/liquid chromatography, electron spectroscopy and vapour pressure measurement.
I have been employed by a number of major instrument manufacturers, and since 1993 have provided my services on a freelance basis.
I can offer particular expertise in the areas of Active-X component development, and the application of handheld devices.
Development Tools & Environment
During my career I have used a number of programming languages and development and operating systems, and have also worked extensively in various assembly languages. My current preferred development environment is MS Visual Studio, using C++ and the ATL and STL template libraries, targeting MS WinNT, Win2000 and WinXP platforms. I also have experience of the MS .NET Framework and .NET Compact Framework, using C#.

One of my most recent projects is MobiSpec, a spectral/chromatographic data viewer for handheld devices.
